Hi,
I am new to selling items on eBay, and I recently sold my first item - a varsity jacket. The item was sold on the 29th of April. I am aware that PayPal operate a 21 day period where they hold the money before it is payed into my bank account - However, it is now the 21st of May and my PayPal balance still stands as "pending". This is outside the 21 day period.
The situation is becoming ever the more frustrating as I require the money.
When will the problem be resolved?

Hi there MoultrieC1,
Welcome to the Community!
If you have sold an item through your account and the money is in your Pending balance, the funds should be released within 24 and 48 hours from when the 21 days passes. If there is a dealy in the money being released, please let us know and we can have the funds released for you as soon as possible.
Please let me know if you require additional assistance in the future.
David.

Is this the 21 day payment hold for a new seller?
Or is it pending in your ebay account.
What does the transaction say in your paypal account.?
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.

same here. I've been selling and buying since paypal began (WAY before ebay acquired), and now a 21 PLUS day "hold" is placed upon my money,.
I am verfied, the bank info is all correct. I followed the "help" sections directions to "Resolution Center" and that was no help.
First email to PP, gave me a "canned answer" telling me to do what I have already done; years ago in some cases.
Second email to PP is thus far unanswered.
I do not understand these draconian methods, holding my funds and paying me no interest.
Kindly help me, or provide a phone number (other than 402 952 8899 which I will try Monday), or person who can actually provide assistance and explanation.
Respectfully Submitted....

Hi read through the following info and see if there is any reason why your payments have suddenly been subjected to the 21 days hold.
I must admit i had to do is x2, when i stopped selling for a year and then re-started i had to do the hold thing again, didn't bother me much as i knew it was for buyer protection and if buyers are happy then they are more likely to buy from me.
Why your payments are held.
• You have been selling on eBay for less than 90 days
• You have an eBay feedback score fewer than 100 as a seller and have not yet established a record of good performance
• You have received fewer than 20 Detatiled Seller Ratings on eBay in the last 12 months or your eBay seller performance is below standard
• You have a high rate of customer disputes or a low eBay feedback percentage
• You have been a PayPal member for less than 6 months and have limited selling activity
• You have a sudden change in selling activities (e.g. suddenly selling expensive items, selling large numbers of items, etc.)
• You happen to be selling in a high risk category such as tickets, travel, gift vouchers, computers, electronics, mobile phones, etc.
Depending on the circumstances, paypal may set aside payments for a single transaction or for all payments to sellers who meet the criteria above.

Kudos / Solution appreciated.

I Understand That ebay has to protect people But. I can not make postage until they money has been released in to paypal so my customers will Have to wait 21 days!!!! Why should i take a risk myself that the money might never go in to my account.
I think this pending Crap is a joke. You take bank details ect. Then you DO have a bloody cheek to charge me on every transaction for selling an Very low item less than 99p Im am left with about 75p after ebay have now started charging you for postage too now.
Im going back to bootfairs where you only pay once and the rest of the money is mine to keep!

I can not make postage until they money has been released in to paypal so my customers will Have to wait 21 days!!!!
then expect neg feedback and disputes for item not received from your buyers.......your ebay account would then be at risk. Don't list items you can't afford to post.
Why should i take a risk myself that the money might never go in to my account.
You are at no more risk than you are if the payment went straight into your account. If a buyer files non receipt of item and there are no funds in your paypal account balance then paypal will put yoru account into negative until you pay them back again...........the hold is to prevent them having to do that as they have already processed the buyers refund.
Have to wait 21 days!!!!
Yep its the new seller hold and EVERY seller on ebay has been through it and most understand why.
Then you DO have a bloody cheek to charge me on every transaction for selling an Very low item less than 99p Im am left with about 75p after ebay have now started charging
do you think paypal staff should work a 37.5 hour week for nil pay??? I wouldn't. You pay ebay to advertise and sell your item and you pay paypal to be able to accept card funded payments from buyers. If you sell low cost items then either get a micropayment account or do a search for completed items and see what your item is likely to make before you list it on ebay, if it is going to be less than you want don't list it.
Im going back to bootfairs
Probably best, leave ebay / paypal selling to those that understand customer service.

Phone customer services.
Click on the words "Contact us" at the bottom of paypal pages > click on the "call us" option on the left
When you get through don't select any options just hang on till you get transfered to an agent.
