hi, if I buy something using paypal and I dont have the funds in my account how long does it take for paypal to take it from my bank account?

If you are sending this payment from a confirmed bank account, it takes in total between 5 and 7 working days to complete processing between your bank account and your PayPal account.

The payment being debited from your bank account varies in a lot of situations depending on when you initially sent the payment. For example, if you send the payment early on a Monday morning, the funds could be taken from your bank on the Tuesday or Wednesday. Where as if you send the payment on a Friday evening, it will not be debited from your bank account until the next Tuesday or Wednesday. This is due to the payments not processing from your bank at the weekend.

If you seller has issued a refund and the payment was funded by your card the funds will credit back to your card after a few days, usually within the same week, but worst case it can be up to 30 days depending on the card provided.

If you funded the payment with your bank account then the funds will credit to you5 PayPal balance and it depends on if the funds have cleared in to the PayPal system yet.

As David says above it take 5-7 working days for PayPal to get the funds from your bank account so if a refund is made within this time then you have to wait the full 5-7 working days from the time of payment for the refund to show in your PayPal balance.

If the funds have cleared into PayPal from your bank account and the refund is still pending, then its pending from the sellers side. This will be 5-7 working days from the date of the refund.
