Hello there, I would ask that you check the error message that you get when you attempt payment. Please remember that PayPal cannot force your bank to give funds to us. We merely request the funds, and that request is either denied or accepted by the card issuer. If it is an issue with your card issuer, please contact them directly.

Hi there,
I would like to ask what cards are accepted by PayPal?
I have a Visa card issued in Lithuania especially desgned for internet payments only.
It has a card number, expiry and security code on the back, but no chip (for chip and pin). Would that card be accepted by Paypal to make payments?
I never had any problems paying with this card in the UK where an online payment system is active.
I know I have tried using it once before on Paypal and I don't think it was accepting it.
What is the reason for that? Can I not use this card on Paypal?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thank you!

Last month I made a payment through PayPal (a donation for a free online game). This month I tried to pay the same amount of money to the same person, and it told me "You cannot complete this action on the card you have selected. Please select another card." I'm still using the same card and I've changed none of my details. What is making my card invalid for this transaction? Is it because it's a debit card (VISA Electron)? I have no credit cards and I don't want to get one just for this one transaction.
I am having the same problem. I have happily used my Visa debit card for months to pay for ebay purchases, but this week clicked on "pay" and it said I couldn't use that card, I had to add another. I contacted the seller to see if the problem was their end, but they said not. I don't have another card, and I don't have a negative Paypal balance, and my bank account has been verified, so what is the problem? I have emailed Paypal, so I am waiting for a reply.

Hey there guys. I will reply to ddonata2 first.
If you have a UK account and are trying to register a Lithuanian card. Then our system will reject that. Only UK based financial information can be put on a UK account. Sorry about that.
Marleycat, as stated already. We request funds from your bank. They either give us the funds or not. It could be something to do with your card issuer’s internal security model blocking the payment, rather than an issue with funds being made available. Please contact them directly for an update on that. Good Luck.
