Hi, I recieved an email today stating that one of my bank accounts linked to paypal had been removed due to it being an invalid account no. after an attempt to transfer funds from it to paypal failed (NO transaction was made by me and no  transactions have been used with this account since it was added, no ebay fees due etc).

The bank account was verified on 24/2/2011 (paypal deposits verified). Has someone attempted to hack my account? Nothing suspicious is showing in my account history..ie. no new info on withdrawls/transactions..note, my paypal account does contain funds that are unchanged.

emails contents are as follows..

Dear stuart , On , we attempted to transfer from your bank account, ending in ****. This transfer was returned by your bank on 18 Mar 2011 for the reason below: This is an invalid bank account number. As a result, this bank account has been disabled from your PayPal account. Please contact your bank for more information or add a new bank account. Please do not contact PayPal because this is entirely an issue between the account holder and their bank.

Yours sincerely

Any help in this matter would be appreciated

Thanks

Hi magooo,

Generally if you receive a message such as this one is because your bank have cancelled the direct debit mandate between PayPal and your bank. This can be for a number of reasons such as any change in your information on your bank, if the mandate was set up for a while and was not being used or your bank may have cancelled it incorrectly.

I would suggest that you contact your bank directly for further clarification on your direct debit mandate.

I hope this helps

Paula
