If you have a look at the forum there has been a sudden influx on posts asking for paypals number of purse, (its very recent and i have not come across this request before) they must be asking it for a reason ie are some companies asking for that info and are the users presuming its a number and not an email address?
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.

Hi again @kernowlass
I had a quick search there and I do see numerous posts about this recently. It's possible that the same merchant or a number of merchants may be requesting this information from buyers.
If you do see future reports of this, can you let the users know that their email address is the main reference for their account. If we can also try to establish the merchants that are requesting this information, we can provide feedback that a number of purse is an email address on PayPal.
Thanks for letting us know.

Hi there, Im just wondering if you could help me out. Basically, I sold an item ( a colourpop yes please palette) on a makeup group. The lady purchased it on the 10/08/2016 and i posted it out on the 12/08/2016, i also posted 3 other things out at the same time. I didnt post it signed for but i posted it first class and still have a reciept. This lady is saying she didnt recieve the palette however, I have seen on a makeup group that she is asking if anybody has the palette as she has a question. To me this is confirmation that she has recvied it. She has opened up a pay pal case and is trying to get her money back. If i escalate it would i be able to win the claim.

I'm sorry to hear what has happened here.
If a claim has been filed against you as an item not received case, we would request information from you to show that the item has been received by your buyer. I understand that there may be an indication via Facebook that your buyer may have received the item but this would not be considered valid proof of delivery.
If the case is escalated to a PayPal claim, you will then be asked to provide a tracking number or postage information that shows the item was delivered to your buyer so it's possible that you may lose this case.

Thank you for replying,
I do have proof that I posted it I have the post office reciept, but I did not send it tracked so I do not have a tracking number. So would this not be enough? It is very frustrating espcially when people know their way around scaming others out of money.

Hi again @Traacyfields
I understand that you may have proof of posting showing the item has been shipped but it is possible that the item may have been delivered to an incorrect address or not delivered at all. Without a tracking number, we would not be able to verify this.
If this case is found in your buyers favor if it gets escalated to a PayPal claim, we would advise you to contact the shipping company to determine if you have an option to file a claim for the item not being received on the buyers side. Only the sender of an item can make a claim with a shipping company as you have the original proof of posting.

Hi David,
When I try to make a purchase I get this:
"We're sorry. We can't complete your purchase at this time. Please return to the merchant and choose another way to pay."
How can I prevent this?
Thanks.

Hey @Anonymous39
Welcome to the Community!
If you are experiencing difficulties when trying to send a payment through your account, can you please try clearing your temporary internet files on the device that you are using and then try this on a different browser?
If you experience the same error message, if you could then try on a different device and internet connection if possible and let us know how that goes.
David.

Hi,
I have sold an item on ebay 7 days ago for pickup collection only, the estimated date for the funds are the 30th of August, but apparently if i marked it as dispatched on ebay they would be able 7 calendar days after I did this, so I check my account today and the funds are still on hold, any help?
