How does the program work? Spend $5000 or more with PayPal in 12 months and boom—you’re automatically enrolled. Once you’re in, your membership is good for 12 months. To keep your Advantage status active, you’ll have to spend $5000 yearly with PayPal.

What do I get out of the program? We asked around, listened closely to what Top Customers wanted, and tailored a program specifically to you.

  • You told us you care most about priority customer support. You now have a dedicated team in the U.S. who answers your calls first and has what it takes to resolve your issues quickly. The Advantage hotline number is listed at the top of every page of your member site.
  • You told us you want to connect with PayPal leaders and other top customers. We launched an exclusive Advantage community where you can interact with each other—and the Advantage team—and where we’ll invite PayPal leaders to participate in Ask the Expert live chat sessions with you. We’re also holding exclusive events just for you. Check back for upcoming locations and dates.
  • You told us you care about exclusive offers and early access to promotions. You can count on us to stay on top of all the communications PayPal sends. And when it comes to offers and promotions, we’ll make sure that you, our Top Customers, receive something extra or better than other PayPal customers do.

We may not get everything right straight out of the gate, but we’re working hard every day to put you first and to make sure you feel appreciated and valued.

I get this email that I'm such a good member I can now be an Advantage Member.

However 3-4 weeks ago I sell an item and am told my funds are frozen for 21 days because my account shows I'm more like y to have chargebacks (even though I've never had a chargeback, return or any negative feedback of any kind). To top it off there is NO way to contact you people to find out why or to contest  your decision.

What's up with you guys????

If USPS purchases don't count, I don't know why I got in............I've probably only BOUGHT about $500 thru paypal this year (excluding USPS)............now I've taken in more than the $5000 as a seller, but not SPENT anywhere near that much...............

lol.......not being too critical, but if the rewards are going to be a chance to win something IF I write something.......errrr.........thanks, but no thanks.

Also, kudos to every paypal employee I've talked to in the last several years...........ALL have been great..........I can only hope my "personal contact" is as good............

Considering the Limited ad up there..........perhaps this is just a buying club thing.........iinstead of a real paypal program?

I get this email about Pay Pal Advanage but I fgured why I got this email. I signed up for PayPal Website Payments Pro so my customers when they purchase on our website they can process their transaction there without leaving the page. The only problem is for me to have the PayPal Website Payments Pro on our web site we have to still show *Express Checkout must be installed and activated in order to use Website Payments Pro, according to PayPal Terms of Service. as a option for customers if they want to take that route. So far my customers continue to use *Express Checkout. the monthly fee for the PayPal Website Payments Pro is $30.00 per month. That $360.00 I pay to Pay Pal. That is a lot for the access to take customers credit card info over the phone.

I personally do NOT like the idea of PayPal changing the way they treat customers.  The MAIN reason I have been a LONG standing PayPal customer is the fact that they DID NOT treat me any differently than another customer.  I do NOT want to be targeted because I do X, Y or Z on their site.

PERIOD

Anyone else feel the same way?  Please log in and reply to this to get the msg BACK to PayPal.  Get rid of this ad focus campaign.

I hear ya...

I too am confused about how and why my account has been upgraded.

Mainly I'm not sure how they calculated this $5000 we all should have had pass through our PP accounts.

Where can I check how much I have accumulated for this year??

Oh so very confusing!

So You've done it. You've splurged during one of your not so "happy" years and you end up with an email in your inbox that says "Welcome Advantage Member". Its at first intriguing because your wondering how in the? But you keep reading...... And reading; until "Benefits" OH BOY!

After you look threw everything you start to wonder, did I really just spend all that money and get some membership that does not seem intriguing. I mean sure the benefits are plain and simple starring at us in the face. "Your Advantage Hotline" like how often would you even have to think about calling the number at the top of your screen?

I for one would most likely never need to have Priority service unless its some life or death financial situation which in that case I would need that hotline. Not only just that number but paypal wont offer its Priority members with weekly or even bi-weekly great deals. No. It has to be strictly monthly!

I wonder why it must be a month to month thing. That's what grinds my gears about this whole situation. Most of the offers are even waaaayyy over my head to even consider. Take for example a "meeting at long beach for lunch and fine wine" really? That's the best you can do.

How about making an offer like "come out to Tacoma for your chance to drive a lamborgini garlardo and race one of nascars drivers." or just simply have him drive you around the track with lunch being provided at the track. I don't know about you but that's much much better than some boring meeting in a random town.

For all you advantage members id like to know how you have benefited or not benefited from having this "Advantage" status. How do you feel and what would you like instead of a boring meeting?

I suspect that the costs of promoting and running this "Advantage" program are far greater than the  actual "benefits" . Shifting around how customer service calls are routed makes no difference to me. Inviting me to Papal "events"  feels more like a effort to generate attention and/or publicity for Papal that it feels like an effort to help, reward or give me something. Ditto with this "hey! You get to make our commercial for us" contest  or maybe I should call it, "we're replacing paid actors with you and we're calling your appearance fee a PRIZE, cool huh?" contest.  I would have much rather had you guys(Papal) flip me a 15 or 20% off any single purchase Papal coupon once in a Blue Moon or a small credit stuck in my account(could be as small as $5) I'd be so thrilled because I would feel like I was getting something for nothing. Heck, I'd love a Papal jacket or travel mug or ANYTHING! (well, anything not TOO chinsy like a Papal pen, button or sticker!)   O H , if you're intent on offering me a "benefit" that doesn't cost you anything..Let me actually log directly into my account without first encountering an ad screen where I have to select "no thanks, go on to my account"  first! FFS! SO ANNOYING!!!!Man Mad

Thanks for your feedback on the Monthly Rewards program. The monthly rewards are extras we give our members. This month's reward offers members another way to connect to one and other as well as share their experiences and thoughts about PayPal.

What kind of monthly rewards would you like to see from the program? We're always looking for feedback on how we can improve and would love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks,

Renee

I've been a member for a couple months and am wondering where I can find these "free" items others say they have received. Is it automatic or am I supposed to jump through some hoops to qualify.

Please enlighten me to what I have been missing... AND how to do better in the future.

Thanks!!!

Nothing is free - except the toll free number for support. You need to post content on these boards or submit a fluff video for their marketing team. And even if you do all those things, you're not guaranteed to get anything free.

I can't even find the Monthly Rewards link for March!  Paypal should have something in Large Bold Letters just as we sign into our "exclusive" Paypal Community Account stating something like, "March Rewards Promotion" so we know how to find it. If this is one of our main benefits of being an Advantage Member, this link should be on your first page so we can at least locate it! Just some "food for thought."
