why does it take so long t withdraw funds???

i am really getting sick of having to wait to get my own money!!firstly my money gets put on hold for 21days because i havent been selling for 90 days, then when i can finally withdraw my money it takes another 3 days to go into my bank, i find this incredible as banks can transfer funds to each other within 2 hours by faster payment so why is paypal still in the stone ages? i started selling on ebay because i needed money but it turned out to be a nightmare as its nearly a month before you can get your hands on your money.  thank god its only 11 days until my payments wont get hold anymore, i think its crazy ive had to wait 90 days for the hold to be lifted as i have sold so many items and never had negative feedback or a dispute, i think everyone is being punished for the few dodgy sellers out there.

I know exactly what you mean, it used to take me 9 days to even see my money but I suppose 3 days now isnt that bad. I wish we could just apply for a PayPal debit card.

Hi there abifeatherstone,

When an eBay payment is placed on hold your funds will be released within 24 hours from when one of the following occurs:

• The buyer leaves you positive feedback
• 21 days pass without a dispute, claim, chargeback, or reversal being filed on the transaction
• You provide a tracking number which shows that the item has been delivered over 3 days ago

In relation to the withdrawing of funds the timeframe is 2-3 working days and there is no way to speed this up, if you wish however you can use the faster withdrawal option which costs £5.00 GBP the funds will be in your bank account within 1-2 working days.

Hope this helps!

I've just opened a business PayPal account, starting out as a new online shop means I don't have terms on the stock I need to buy, therefore when someone buys something from my website, I need the funds available quickly so I can pay the distributor to send the items out. A long waiting period is effecting my business as I'm having to ask customers to wait a long time for their items as their money hasn't cleared. What can we do to resolve this? Under the lip.

I know what you mean! I'm stuck in the 21 day waiting process as well right now! I think at most it should be a 10 day wait for those who don't use their account as often, and buy feedback should be considered. 21 days is outrageous! I started selling on ebay because I NEEDED money, and to wait almost a month to receive it is just absolutely not okay. 😕

Hello Joeytristan1,

Thank you for your message and welcome to the PayPal Community! I am sorry to hear about this experience. Based on your message, I understand that your incoming sales have been placed on hold. If you are a new seller or have started to sale after a break period, your funds might be help for up to 21 days. However, it is also important to know that you can get an early access to those funds by following this criteria http://ow.ly/SQdXw

Regarding the eBay charges that you have received, the best thing is to contact with eBay directly as they will be able to explain you in detail their fee scheme. You can also consider to contact eBay via Twitter @AskeBay as they normally reply very quickly in there.

Hope this helps,

Carlos

This is just how PayPal works now, it's a terrible system and I avoid it at all costs. Whenever my money gets put on hold I refund it and get them to send it as a gift, or via bank transfer. I'm not waiting 21 days don't be silly.

My paypal withdrawls are usually the same day, I've waited 60hrs for this current one so far. Ridiculous!

Your best bet is to avoid paypal and eBay all together! Trust me I've been using them for 10 years on/off and they are not worth the hassle! Sell on craigslist/gumtree and don't support this crappy paypal empire.
