Withdraw request under review

Am so fed up with Paypal, this is the third time in 3 weeks that they have held up my withdrawal of funds.  No reason given, no apologies.  I understand the fraud prevention reasoning, but the account name & number hasn't changed so why do they need to keep doing this.  The last two occasions it took 5 days for the money to go into my account. Am going on holiday shortly and want the money for my spending.....................this is my money !!  Maybe I'll ask my e-bay customers to pay by cheque then at least I know I will get MY money.

I too am awaiting for funds to be transfered to my account. I tested it again today to try withdraw £10, the same crap security statement appears.

PayPal are clearly misleading their customers when it states that 'Funds can take upto 24 hours to reach your bank account' Clearly this is false advertising and should be reviewed by the trading standards authorities as it is not adhering to this. So many of people on here have the same issue, yet PayPal take funds off monies received before the customer receives them, yet thay cannot release funds to a persons account quickly enough.

It is pure s***.

People get the same fob offs, all the pre-done templates.

So come on PAYPAL, sort this s*** out once and for all as you simply are taking the p*** out of people.

like everyone else this withdrawal process is under review is annoying and certainly an inconvenience this is the 2nd time i have withdrawn funds and the 2nd time i have had to wait... wait... wait.... and wait! ebay needs to ditch paypal and maybe setup its own similar service or allow other providers to offer services

As this is my first time trying to withdraw money from paypal I've been hit with a "pending" message. Can everyone confirm they do get there money within the time frame they state i.e. mine says 72 hours? Just dont want this draging on for a long time. I wont be using paypal again to collect money for something I sell 😞

This has happened to me too. Any other withdrawal ive ever made has been in my account within two hourse but this Wednesday I made a withdrawal that I really need but it didn't go into my bank account after 2 hours so I rang paypal and the customer service agent said he could immediately see what had happened because this withdrawal was significantly larger than my previous withdrawals and that I had withdrawn it immediately that they have decided to review it for security reasons and that my money will arrive within 72 hours! I really need this money and it's my money! It seems to me that paypal just want to hang onto my money for a bit longer. It's been over 48hrs now and I have been checking my account like a mad woman. I have been very stressed and it's still not there. I don't have much confidence that I will get my money within the 72hrs now either. How can paypal do this to people?

They do it because it is in the terms and conditions that you sign up to when you join.

Also the payment is normally released dead on 72 hours.

I think this is the reason >>>

When you pay a seller it is never instant > paypal credit the seller for you then start the process of uploading your funds to paypal from your funding source.

So if you withdraw that payment immediately its paypals money you are withdrawing so they put it on hold until the buyers money has cleared.i

I've had my last 10 withdrawals reviewed.

I've called PayPal twice and have been astounded by the answers I received.

The hold states:

"Your withdrawal request is awaiting release for final processing, pending review by PayPal."

The advisor told me that it is not PayPal holding the transaction but infact the faster payments service.  When I questioned why it states PayPal on my account, he told me that "customers would not understant if we put it is the banks holding the funds".  He told me he has worked for banks and this is all normal.  I told him that I have worked for banks for a long time, he still didn't give up.  I asked him to email me this so I have a record, surprisingly nothing has been received.

I put this down to a lunatic advisor....however on my second call i was told EXACTLY THE SAME THING!!

Why can't PayPal just tell the truth?

Its absurd.

I think alternative ewallets should be available on eBay, they own PayPal and its not fair to force us to use this pathetic service.

This has happened to me yesterday despite every other payment appearing almost instantly into my bank account. I put a souvenir up for sale as buy it now as really needed the money to get me through next week and was bought within an hour. Buyer paid straight away but when I withdrew the money it is now just saying pending with no indication of how long it's going to take. I need this money in my account by 4.00am Monday morning and I'm now worrying how I am going to get to work!

Can take up to 72 hours for withdrawals, as stated in the user agreement 2 hour withdrawals are not guaranteed.

Holds seem to happen more at the weekend.

Time to get on to the Financial Conduct Authority and ask them to look into this and confirm if PayPal are acting lawfully and complying with the legislative requirements imposed on them.

The FCA should also look into what 'checks' (if any) PayPal are actually carrying out during the 'review' and why this takes 72 hours.
