Thank you kernowlass for your assistance. Sadly your position "Volunteer Advisor" suggests you are acting and speaking on behalf of paypal when they do not or are not willing to speak for themselves. Even if you were I certainly would not be rude but I can express my annoyance with this company. I appreciate by your further comments you were speaking about phonong these number by mobile but as an Ex BT Manager I was knowledgeable enough to know only to use my land line for 0800 calls, hence, the comment you made, without qualification and a volunteer advisor, suggested that charges were involved. Paypal should also qualify that calls to this number may be charged if made from a mobile. It really does go to show how little  a concern they have for their customers financial well being and how little they want you to know about how to complain about them within this Country. So apologies if you took offence at my rant however I do feel it is and was entirely justified.

Unfortunately telepathy is not my strong point so i did not know you were an ex BT manager, I thought you were someone "maybe" on the end of a mobile phone spending 30 minutes running up a big bill..........hence my warning which you chose to be rather nasty about accusing ME of possibly costing you money when I was trying to do the opposite.!!

I do not act or speak on behalf of paypal, the boards here are for "community help".

I am here to try and save folks getting scammed or locate their funds etc. I only came to this board originally with a query of my own there was no one helping loads of posts unanswered.......I stayed.

I am lucky to have a kudos of over 800 which means at least that amount of people have taken the time to mark my post as having solved their problem. So your insinuation I am not a good advisor because I do not know "everything" is immaterial to me.

Hope you get your dosh soon....byeee.

Thanks for all you do...it must be a thankless job sometimes. It is good of you to share your experience with us by trying to help 🙂

People are more frustrated with Paypal and not you...unfortunately you are on the receiving end of the frustration.

Try not to take it to heart. We love you really 🙂

I am really unsure of where you get the idea that you are not a good advisor from. My complaint was and always has been with Paypal. Your involvement as a volunteer advisor initially suggested to me that you were acting on or on behalf of Paypal hence my comments were initially aimed at you because of your title but, I clearly laid that to rest with my last email to you when I thanked you and also explained the reason for my comments. If you feel you need to take responsibility for how Paypal behave to it's customers that it is very regrettable but, whilst my initial comment about the price of the calls was directed your way because of how it was worded when I saw your title and you used the CONTACT US, it was solely  based on the assumption that you were asking me to contact YOU and not the " contact us " as used by Paypal. I can say no more than what I said in my previous email and that was thank you and to further add that you are incorrect in your assumption that I think you are not a good advisor. However, for your information Paypal are regulated within the UK, firstly by the Financial Ombudsman who deals with any Paypal Customer who has an individual complaint against them or on a Company level by the Financial Conduct Authority.  Paypal may like to suggest  that complaints should be directed to Luxenburg, which would probably suit them but, they can be directed and dealt with within in the UK by these bodies

I have never looked at it that way when i told people to go to contact us.

In future I will re-word it and put "click on the words "contact us" at the bottom of paypal pages" that should stop any confusion.

I see now why you thought I was saying I was working for paypal. Believe me I would NEVER tell folks I worked for them as their customer service is not of the best at times.

Again hope you get your money ok. Now I must walk the darn dog.
