Paypal to bank withdrawal reversed

This morning I attempted to withdraw money from Paypal to my bank account (which is linked and current, no details have been changed). Paypal informed that the transfer had been reversed and that I had been charged 50p. I tried again (now 50p down) and the same thing happened with another 50p charge levied. I have contacted my bank and they say no transfers had been attempted today and they can see no reason why they would refuse the transfer. I believe the bank as yesterday I transferred 2 separate amounts of money with no problems at all, much the same as I have been doing for years. I have emailed Paypal for an explanantion and for my fees to be returned as it appears to be their mistake. I have 'phoned 3 times using the telephone passcode supplied each time but have now been kept waiting on hold for over 30 minutes in total. Does anybody have any idea what is going on.

I understand your frustration but if you look at the dozens of posts below yours you will see we are all in the same boat.

Ok I now see that there is a problem with Paypal.

Yep...it's so annoying.

I have just had the same problem, had my funds from yesterday returned and I have an outstanding withdrawal from this morning which is pending.  I'm frustrated because I've got a big dd going out the bank tonight and this will send me overdrawn grrrrr tried to phone paypal - left waiting.  I feel somewhat relieved that there appears to be a problem but with no update from them and them not answering the phone its leaving me somewhat frustrated!

I've tried refreshing the page as suggested on other threads dealing with this problem but no sign yet of the 50p charges being refunded. Guess I'll leave it now till tomorrow.
