Really hope staff still active on here....

Yesterday (23/12) I logged into paypal and requested funds to be withdrawn to my bank account. Lunchtime today it still hadn't reached my bank and was still marked as 'pending'. I called the support line and was told that the funds would be in my account by 2.30pm at the very latest. When I asked if this was definately going to happen I was told yes, it would be there guaranteed.

Well it's not and now the support line is closed. Without that transfer from paypal I have no funds avilable to me at all, it's 3.45pm christmas eve and I have two young kids who will be heartbroken when 'Santa' doesn't bring them a present tomorrow.

I want my money please Paypal and I want it now......

Two years ago it took that long, it's been pretty much instant or officially upto two hours for a long time now.

Not from the posts that appear from here.

Also it states in the user agreement that the 2 hour time frame is "not guaranteed".

Seem to get a lot of folks with payments pending around weekends and holiday times.

I don't believe any deadlines given by PP on this subject. The truth is that nobody talking to you on the line has any idea what is going on with the "pending" status. I actually don't understand why there should be any delay of this nature, particularly when the source of the money is 100% confirmed, happy and verified.

I spoke with someone about this today and they've said that if the transfer is pending, its for security reasons. The transaction has been flagged as suspicious by their automatic process which then means it will take 72 hours to complete this process before the actual transfer is initiated.

Haha, they told me something different a while ago.

Thy told me that when you a new 'seller' it is their policy to withold payments of up to 72 hours for security reasons, to basically make sure im not a gangster or a thief (like them). So, even though i'd been using paypal for over 8years buying and selling, they all of a sudden out of the blue give me that old tosh as an excuse!

Hi mr_blonde,

Happy New Year!

As Ascender rightly said, if transaction is exposed to higher than usual risk it may be held up to 72 hours for security reasons - usually it's 24 hours though. It may be related to the fact that person is a new seller but it doesn't has to.

The way these transactions are porcessed is the security hold time (24 - 72 hours) + regular bank withdrawal timeframe (2h - 7 working day depending on your bank).

Please remember this in place to protect your funds!

Hope it helps to understand this process a bit better.

Thanks!

Anna

Your lucky they said 72 hours, they are saying due to me being a new seller they are holding my money for 21 working days before I can even request a withdrawal! So I've had to foot the postage fees as PayPal have that too!
