Cannot add money to PayPal account from confirmed bank account

I am trying to add money to my PayPal account from my bank account.  Every time I try though it says 'Unable to process your request'.  I only confirmed the account this morning; do I have to wait a while before it's allowed or is there something wrong with the website?

In my Wallet, it says that my bank account is confirmed but when I click on my card it comes up saying to enter the 4 digit code they send to my card.  I can't see this code on my online statement.  Is this what's preventing me from transferring money?  The error message doens't really tell me anything about the problem.

Thanks,

jayrdi

It's the only way I can think of to keep a pot of money from multiple people for a specific event in one place and separate from any other money.

Hello all, has anyone solved this problem yet? I have been having exactly the same problem since the begining of the year, I have been using this method to top-up my paypal account for several years and not had a problem before.

I have exhanged several emails with paypal to no avail, this was an email I received from paypal on the 17th Feburary 2015...

Hi David! it is my pleasure to assist you again.

Thank you for the screenshot. One thing I can assure you is that, I have passed on your account to our technical team to ensure that you will be prioritized.
You will be notified once we have an update.

Apparently, there have been some updates on our system recently and some features may be affected. One of those is adding funds to your PayPal account. We are working hard to resolve this quickly.

Just for clarification, are you trying to add funds in order to complete payment online?

Please note that there is no need to add funds to your PayPal account in order to complete a payment. Although your PayPal balance is not enough to cover your payment, you can still complete it using your PayPal account.

When sending a payment, we take the funds first on your PayPal  balance. If the amount is not enough, we request funds directly from your bank account. Once the request was declined by your bank account, we take the funds instead to your back up funding source which is your card.

I'm confident this information has been helpful and I appreciate your patience and understanding regarding this matter.

Thank you for choosing PayPal.

I still haven't been notified of an update and I'm still as of today unable to transfer funds.

At the end of March 2015 I suggested to paypal that maybe I should close my account and reregister but they didn't seem to confident that would work, I haven't tried to open another account with paypal as I've been too busy to make a trip to the bank which I will need to do to permit direct debit payments.

This is the relavent part of the email of the 31 of March 2015 from paypal...

I wouldn't suggest closing your PayPal account and creating a new one since this is not guaranteed that it will not be affected by the same issue. Please remember that when you create a new account, you will use the same information that you have used in your previous account. Due to this, the issue might still arise in the new account.

One more option that you can do is to create a new PayPal account under a different email address. This means that you will retain the old account. You will then remove the bank from the old account and register it in the new account. You will need to go through the process of confirming the bank to set up direct debit which will allow you to initiate Add Funds. Please note that this is also not guaranteed.

Any help or more upto date info much appriciated,

Dave.
