Adding funds from my bank to PayPal

I've called my bank about this and they say this is out of their hands. I withdrew from my bank money to then be put into my PayPal for a payment I wanted to make to a PayPal only eBay product. However, this transfer request was made a week ago. The money is "pending" and the estimate for when the money would be put in was today. It still hasn't arrived and even if it does today, why is the system slow for me? From what I've heard other users I know receive their money almost instantaneously in their wallet. I think it's safe to say the system PayPal use needs to be updated because the amount of time it takes is unacceptable and gives bad rep for PayPal. I am disappointed it's taking this long for my money when taken out of my bank the day I made the request is not here seven days later. I am aware it says up to 21 days but seriously why is that a thing? 21 days is a long time to wait for putting your own money toward your wallet. It should be faster. Is there anyway this could be sped up?

You are mixing up so much information i hardly know where to start, but as the adverts are on I will try.

Firstly the 21 day hold is for new SELLERS when the funds are in their paypal balance but they can't withdraw them yet, that has NOTHING to do with you if you are 'adding' funds to your paypal account.

Secondly as a buyer you DO NOT need to add funds to your paypal account balance, if you have a card linked OR a bank account and a back up card linked then paypal will take the funds directly from the funding source you choose.

HOWEVER paypal payments are never instant > paypal CREDIT the seller for you and then paypal take the 5-7 days wait for the funds to transfer from your funding source. BUT if you are transfering those funds to your balance yourself then you have to take the wait.

Paypal use the slowest transfer method to reduce costs to themselves and that is why they credit the seller for you if you pay directly from your funding source.

Funds can leave your bank account from a few hours UP TO a few days later but that does not mean paypal have them as they have to go via automated clearing until they arrive at paypal 5-7 working days later. The date given to you for clearance is estimated.

Paypals system does not need fixing, its fine.
