I will no longer be using an email. I have tried to change the email address but paypal have said i cant - cant edit my primary email. I need this new address as my primary email as i will not be using the old address anymore! this is ridiculous!
Any help, suggestions gratefully received

Well its not ridiculous, its pretty easy.
Add the new email address and verify it > make it primary > remove the old one.

No you said you had tried to EDIT your primary email address.
You can't EDIT your primary email > you have to add the NEW ONE > then make that one PRIMARY > then you can REMOVE the old one.

There are some email addresses that paypal don't accept.
Maybe give paypal customer services a bell and see if that is the reason or if not what the problem is?

Click on the words "Contact" at the bottom of your paypal account summary page and use the phone option (if there is one in the country you are in) > click on the "call us" option on the left (fees "may" apply so check the cost with your phone tariff first, as you sometimes have to wait a while to connect).
When you get through don't select any options just hang on till you get transfered to an agent or say the word "agent".
