Updating bank card with married name - no photo ID

Hi,

I have a PayPal Account set up in my maiden name, I recently got married and wish to update the details and bank card details.

To be able to update the name on the bank card details I need to send copies of marriage certificate (no problem) and photo ID - I have not changed either my driving licence or Passport and do not plan to immediately. 

Any ideas on how I get round this problem?  I do not have any other photo ID with my married name.

I cannot currently use my PayPal account as the card details are invalid, I only have new bank cards with my married name.  I want to start selling my wedding items on ebaY asap to try and cover the cost of the wedding!

Hi there V3884,

If you have got married recently, there are a few different documents that we require in order to update the name that is registered on your PayPal account. We would require a copy of your marriage certificate, a valid photo id and also a proof of address document.

I realise that you may not have a photo id in your married name but if you have any proof of address documentation showing your married name, we would be able to accept this along with the photo id showing your maiden name.

Here’s how you change the name on your account:

1. Go to www.paypal.co.uk/namechange(and log in to your account if prompted).
2. Select the type of change you would like to make and click ‘Continue.’
3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

If you could scan or take a picture with a digital camera of the above required documentation, you can then upload the information through your PayPal account when you go to the above link.

When you have requested the name change and supplied the documentation, you can then send us an email through your account to let us know that the information has been submitted and we can have the name updated on your account for you.

To send us an email, you can click on the Contact Us link at the bottom of any PayPal wepage. From here, you can then select the Email Us option.

hi there did u get this sorted out as im having problems aswell as i got married in july and need to update my account but i cant change my name on my account till i can send proof and again they need photo id and i dont have any not with my married name and i dont have any photo id with my maiden name on ??
