I live in England but I also have a CIBC account and a debit card.
If I take money out of my CIBC account at an ATM it charges me a conversion fee.
If I sign my CIBC card up to PayPal and use it to buy things online, will I still get a conversion charge?
If I buy something from Canada with my Engish debit card through PayPal I don't seem to have much of a problem but I didn't know if thats just because of the bank I'm with.

Hi AiyanaJenipher,
Welcome to our community page.
I am sorry if this may have caused inconvenience. Exchange rates apply when you convert money from one currency into another currency. The exchange rate would apply to the following types of transactions:
- You send a payment in a currency that isn’t your default payment method’s currency.
- You withdraw money in a different currency.
- You transfer money from a balance in one currency to a balance in another currency.
- You accept a payment in another currency and have it automatically converted to your preferred currency.
If you have a Business account or a Premier account, you can choose to have payments automatically converted into your preferred currency.
I hope this info helps. I am here to help if you have any questions!
Arda
