Balance should be $0 but unauthorized transactions left it with a positive balance

Somebody hacked my account and attempted to use it to move money. The original problem was a relatively weak password - that issue should be resolved. I went through the reporting process and resolved the transactions.

My original account balance was $0. An unauthorized credit came into my account first followed by two quick purchases. All transactions were reversed. However, after all transactions were reversed (even the original credit) I still have the amount of the original unauthorized credit as the balance on my account.

This seems to be an accounting error of some sort. None of the typical reporting options seem to fit this issue. Money doesn't appear out of thin air, so if there's a balance in my account somebody's got a hole in theirs. It may be Paypal or it may be the original creditor.

Any ideas?
