is it safe to buy this car via paypal?

hello,

I have found a car on gumtree which has been advertised for over 45 days

I messaged the lady and asked if she still has the car which she said yes.

She said she lives in scotland and will accept 2000 for a quick purchase.

However she said she will send to me via a courier named Shiply at her own expense and would like me to pay via paypal.

She said as a viewing or collection isnt an option she will agree to a 7 day inspection period. She said she will also sign ebays return poilcy'.

Is this a thing?

Is this legit?

i am keen to get the car but am slightly warey about sending 2000 via payapal for a car i have only seen pictures of.

Any advice greatly appreciated

Personally i would want to pay cash on collection and inspection of the vehicle.

You have NO buyer protection on paypal for motor vehicles.

Hi. I have also seen a campervan id like to buy on ebay classified ads. I emailed seller to ask a question then the ad was removed. Next day I had email saying van still for sale to pay through PayPal and she (lucy) would cover costs of shipping as she was in Scotland working. The original post location was St Albans. She stated the company she would use is shiply and she would sign ebay returns policy so I could check out the van and return in 5/7 days if I wasn't happy with it at her cost. Too good to be true? Did it work out ok for you?

This sounds remarkably like the same lady that has been emaling me about a JCB Mini Digger her name isnt Amy by an chance? She advertised the JCG on eBay and i messaged her however the next morning when i looked on eBay the add was no longer available,so I thought she had probably sold it..However later that day she messaged me to say it was still for sale and to contact her on her email address, When she repled she said she said I could not come and View it as she lived in Scotland due to her work she said she woild except £3500 for a quick sale, She said everthing the same to me as she told you she sent me a link of the ebay return policy and said she would sighn it ,.I realise that your post was some time ago but just thought i would send you this message and maybee you could tell me how you resoved the issue ,

Yes excactly the same !! Amy from Scotland and a Lucy who had just moved to Canada. It's a total and complete scam - there is no such thing as her signing a PayPal 7 day thing because it doesn't exist on vehicles! So they can take your money and run! Please don't buy from these people.

Thank You for that Information I have reported her to eBay today they said that she has never sold anything on there before but they are very clever these scammers! 

Anyway thanks again and I wont be buying from them.
