Hi lauraboo,

Welcome to the UK Community Forum and thanks for posting!

From time to time, we made request that you verify that you are in full control of the account to allow a payment to go through or a change to be made. This can be triggered for a number of reasons, if you are making a larger than normal payment or if you are logging in from somewhere you don’t normally access your PayPal account from.

If this happens, you’ll see a drop down menu showing the last digits of your card or bank account number and a space for you to enter in the full 8 or 16 digits. At the top of the screen, you’ll see the https in front of the website address (www.paypal.co.uk). As we can only offer general advice and assistance on the Community Forum, you may wish to contact our Customer Service team to confirm that this was a genuine request from PayPal. If you click on the “Contact Us” link at the bottom of any PayPal screen, you’ll get the options to contact us via phone or email.

Hope this helps,
Maria
