Text asking me to verify my account

I have just received a text from PayPalALERT

I would like to know if you ever send texts asking users to verify their details.

The source and number are both suspicious: number = 72972525378

Please let me know urgently if this is a scam

Update:- This number originates in Russia, specifically, Kazakstan.

Just spoke to CS person, who should be forwarding this info to relevant people.

Anyone who gets this text, if you have an iPhone block the number, defintely Scam.

Welcome to the community and thanks for posting.

PayPal never asks for sensitive information by text message. We use this service only to alert you to issues on your account which you can then view by logging in as normal.

If you receive a text message that you believe is not from PayPal, forward the message to 62226 and insert the word spoof in the beginning of the message.
