Scam warning !!

I have also just received a scam email, after advertising some furniture on ebay I was contacted by Nicola Brown who said she was working on an oil rig but wanted to buy the unit ure for someone who really needed it the total was £850 but she said she had put £1270 into PayPal and I was to send £400 cash to money gram to pay the courier, the email was almost word for word the same as was the spoof confirm at ion I recited from PayPal,  I was suspicious from the start as it Al,  seemed too good to be true, so all of you out there be very careful of these lowlife people ....

Thank you all for posting - I googled this under a hunch after thinking "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is"! Text last night from a name not a phone number, followed by an email - "Fiona Hackney" works on an oil rig, 100% happy with advert, and it is for a family member who needs it urgently (am selling a wedding dress) - email also started this with "I want you to consider this a deal...." - alarm bells! Good job I checked first.....again, thanks all for posting 🙂

Hi there – I just wanted to also let you all know the name Alina Rayes is 100% scum, I received exact same email as quoted above, about her working on oil rig and that she wanted to buy all the furniture I advertised on gumtree….same with the text message which came from Alina and not a number….I googled a lot of warnings and found multiple people with the same emails trail from her and other names, literally the same….

Stellawayne, working on an oil rig has just tried the same scam on my Gumtree listed Ad.....In urgent need of the item of furniture as a family gift, payment to be made via PayPal and courier pick up.

I have just got another one Ann Beatston wanting to buy my bags off Gumtree not only she wants all 6 bags, but she is buying them for a cousin, cant collect them but will send a courier. The text came from a name not number which you cant reply to.

Nicola Brown or Keith Aiden has now changed their name to Anna Jose

Same wording for me, had a quick look here and will be blocking the emails and ignoring

*** *** is still at it and tried it on me today, didn't fall for it as had had something very similar many years ago on eBay. Same scam furniture for sale on Gumtree, oil rig, courier PayPal, and number you can't reply too.
