Scam email

I recieved the following email, purportedly from yourselves but which I think is a scam.

Security Center Advisory!

PayPal is constantly working to ensure security by regularly screening the accounts in our system. We recently reviewed your account, and we need more information to help us provide you with secure service. Until we can collect this information, your access to sensitive account features will be limited or terminated. We would like to restore your access as soon as possible, and we apologize for the inconvenience. Why is my account access limited? Your account access has been limited for the following reason(s): November 09, 2011: We have reason to believe that your account was accessed by a third party. Because protecting the security of your account is our primary concern, we have limited access to sensitive PayPal account features. We understand that this may be an inconvenience but please understand that this temporary limitation is for your protection. Click here to Remove Limitations Completing all of the checklist items will automatically restore your account access. Thank you for using PayPal! The PayPal Team

Hey there,

Was email address to you specifically?

On this email I can’t see it address to anyone. For example if it says something general like Dear PayPal member or Dear valued Customer then it’s not from PayPal. We will always address an email to the name on the PayPal account.

I received TWO of these emails on Sunday, November 27th. Both of them addressed me by FIRST AND LAST NAME. I get these on an almost regular basis. When I forward them to Paypal's spam address,  the emails come back as "undeliverable". PayPal you have a problem.

Just received a similar scam on 27/12/11 saying that they will close my account by today. Realised it was a scam. I keep geeting pestered by Premier Players Club gambling site also- could the two be linked? Paypal should be aware of the scale of this.
