Scam email?

I received an email this morning that appeared to be from PayPal about a payment to ebay. I have not made any recent purchases on ebay so was immediately suspicious/worried that someone had hacked my account. The email was almost identical to emails that I receive from PayPal, the only difference being that when I clicked on the sender's details it said the normal PayPal address AND 'postmaster @ hlsp.biz'. Am I right to think this is some sort of scam? Has anyone else received similar messages? I have forwarded the email to PayPal and am awaiting a response from them.

The easiest way to check is to log on to your paypal account 'normally' and not via any links if there are any in the email and see if the payment is showing.

If its a spoof, DO NOT USE ANY LINK.

Firstly if the email addressed you as ''Dear Member'' / ''Customer'' / ''Client'' OR your ''email address'' then that confirms its a spoof as paypal would address you by your full name eg Dear John Smith.

Secondly if there was a link OR attachment in that email to ''cancel'' the transaction or ''confirm'' any details then again it would be a spoof.

If there was a problem with your account paypal would not ask you to click on an unsafe link in an email or by downloading an attachment, they would direct you to log in normally and go to the resolution or the message centre for more information.
