Potential scam

I got an email from a guy that wanted to buy the car we're selling. He wanted to pay with paypal so i accepted and waited for the transaction to be done . Today i looked at my email and saw 2 messages that looked like they were real, but then i noticed that the email they were sent from was not the same as from my other transactions.

Secondly i noticed that the google+ page of said email had no followers , then i looked at my paypal page and there was no pending transfer. But the bigest thing to tip me off that this might be a scam was the username, the email reffered to me as.

I sent him my paypal details but instead of giving him the name of the user that the paypal is registered to i gave him the sellers name witch is my grandmothers name. Ive done transactions like this in the past and from what ive seen you only need the email address of the account  to do a transaction and it always responds automaticly with the actual name the paypal is registered to. Im 99% sure that this is a scam but could you inspect these 2 pictures of the 2 emails ?

There shouldnt be any info in the pictures that would harm me but ive left the scamers email and other info so give him **bleep** by reporting him.

Sorry i don't click on strange links but read the below scam and see if it fits >>>>>

THIS IS A TYPICAL PAYPAL SCAM.

They encourage you to use paypal.

They are happy to pay the full price of the item without bothering to view.

You will get/got a "fake" email that looks as though it is from paypal.....it isn't.

It will say the buyer has paid ...you won't have been paid.

If the item requires shipping they will tell you that they will pay you extra and you must pay the agent via western union / moneygram BEFORE the funds are released to you.

They are not interested in the item, they just want the western union etc funds and you will never see money in your paypal balance.

They also threaten legal action...have a laugh at that one and ignore it as its rubbish.

Paypal NEVER tell you to send an item before the payment is showing in your paypal account.

Paypal NEVER expect you to use a rival money transfer service.

Also their is no seller protection on paypal for any type of motor vehicle.

Delete any emails and ignore the scammers.

Kudos / Solution appreciated.

No its not against board rules to post any links at all.

i am just a "don't click on strange links" freak    Smiley Wink

Glad you weren't scammed.

Car = cash on collection or bank transfer. I would never use paypal for a collect transaction.

Good luck.
