PAYPAL WRONG?

Hi,So I recently purchased some Lady gaga beats on ebay. Seller told me they are genuine etc. Advertised them as red ones. They came they were not red but black. And they wer fake. He still tried to tell me they are real etc So anyhow my paypal account is linked to my bank account. I withdrew my funds from my bank after the payment. (I thought paypal take the funds asap or hold them) I then Have had some emails saying they tried to take money but could not etc. Phoned up they told me I owe them money? I sent the earphones back to the seller he told me he'd refund me etc (They also broke 2 days later) Now he's telling me paypal are holding his payment? What Can I do? It says I'm -£64. Will paypal send the police? Debt agencies? etc?

You did this the wrong way, firstly if the item you received was fake the first thing i would have done was to contact the seller and say that unless i got an immediate refund i would be contacting trading standards re the fake item, that sometimes works without resorting to a dispute.

If it didn't then i would file item not received via the resolution tab in my paypal account put in what has happened and escalate the dispute to a claim, if paypal find in your favour and  you could prove the item was fake you may not even have had to return the item for your refund.

I hope you sent the item back trackable, if you did then file now for item received but not as described via the resolution tab in your paypal account put in what has happened and escalate the dispute to a claim.

If you win or the seller refunds then your minus is wiped, if they don't find in your favour then you will have to add funds to clear your neg balance.

I did not send back tracked. How long will I have to pay? I have opened a case on ebay. The seller said

''Seller's message:
'Hi I dont hold your money. Paypal have put a hold on the funds and I cannot take them they will be returned to you when I receive the item back. As yet I have not received the item back. Can you provide me with any evedence that you posted them back. Also who did you use for shipment? Price paid for shipment?'''

OK then the dispute was filed with ebay but i fear you will lose if you didn't send it trackable as you can't prove to ebay that you returned the item.

Great! Do you know how long paypal allow for a - to be paid? and would they send a debt collecter around for £60?
