I checked my Facebook account and I don't have a paypal payment method. I checked paypal and I have an inactive facebook payment method. I never paid for anything on facebook so I don't know how this was added. I do browse facebook marketplace but never purchased anything online. I never added facebook to paypal or paypal to facebook. I don't want my purchased going through facebook. I don't want facebook messaging me about paypal. How do I get rid of this connection short of closing my paypal account?
I want to get rid of this connection. If I cannot do this I will close my paypal account.

I called customer service and was put on hold 8 minutes before a rep answered. He said to go to notifications and I select Facebook to stop notifications, however there is no button for that, then after the customer service rep spoke to someone, he told me that there is no opt out option and we are stuck with it. The only option is to block the messages through Facebook messenger. However that doesn’t mean FB isn’t getting the information, it just means I don’t see it. It’s ridiculous to give Facebook my PayPal information. Just send me my email or text.
paypal needs to fix this and give consumers the choice of getting FB messages for transactions
