Difficulty changing primary phone number

So, I very recently got a new phone and had to switch phone numbers.  I successfully updated my primary phone number and successfully deleted my old number from my settings.

However, when I go to log in PayPal wants to send the SMS to my old phone number and not the new one.  The drop down tab for available numbers (at log in) only shows my old number.

I can't figure out why this is.  Anyone experience something similar?  Any thoughts on a solution?

Basically Im having same issue. NEW PHONE number 

I LIsted and deleted old. But pay pal secrity issue is 

Problem. I Cant send out payment just because I cant 

Recieve phone call on the old number. No its not listing

Any number when pay pal trys toto varify its me. So I cant 

Verify its me. I can use paypal debit card for transactions and

Recieve money although one evening at dinner the transaction 

Wouldnt go through either. Very frustrating I have called pay pal twice. 

No help
