"Sorry, we can’t add this card.."

Hi, i have a paypal account which i have registered one credit card long time ago,that i no longer intend to use, thus i am trying to add another card to my account, however i get this message "Sorry, we can’t add this card. Please try adding a different card to your account.
". I have confirmed that i can make purchases and withdrawals from the specific account with the specific credit card and after contacting the bank, they confirmed that there is nothing wrong with neither the card nor the account. While going through the paypal community forums i have come across similar situations with the possible explanation that my credit card has been blocked by paypal. Can you please let me know how i can proceed. Thank you.

This is a user forum and we have no details about your account and your credit cards.  You will need to contact PayPal customer service for specific help.

 

You could also provide details about your current situation.

What credit card is currently linked to your account?  Is that credit card still active?

What credit card are you now trying to link?

Have you ever had any other credit cards linked to your account?

Have you ever had any problems or late payments with your current credit card?

Hi thanks for your response, i have already emailed customer support and the automatic response message suggested that i should also try the community forums. The credit card currently linked to the account is a visa debit card, which is active with a healthy transaction history. However i plan on closing that bank account hence my attemp for adding a new credit card. I have never had any other credit cards registered in the account. The credit card I have attempted to add is also a visa debit card which is new. It was issued almost two weeks ago and after my failed attemp to add it to my paypal account i contacted the bank where they ensured me that my new credit card is completely operational.

What bank sponsors your credit cards?  Not all banks are acceptable.

 

For email responses, you need to reply to the automated message and very specific details about your problem, including current linked accounts and bank and also ask for a real person to respon.  You need to be ver clear about the problem and details.

The bank sponsoring my credit card is bank of Cyprus, i had suspected that the bank might not be acceptable, however i have asked people that have credit card accounts at the same bank who have fully operational paypal accounts registered with their cards.

I have already replied to the automated message and i'm currently waiting for a response, reaching out to the community forum seemed like it might be quicker though.

No, the card is brand new so is the bank account registered to.

Your VISA card is a DEBIT crd with bank of Cyprus.

 

Do you have a linked bank account?  What is the bank.?

 

Have any of your accounts ever been linked to another PayPal account?
