Normally, when you make a purchase, PayPal will first attempt to use the funds in your PayPal Account Balance. If you have insufficient funds in your Account Balance, PayPal will then withdraw the funds from your Bank Account. Credit Cards are for additional proof of ID and can be used as a backup funding source. You can choose to pay with a credit card when you are on a PayPal Checkout Screen. Just select the option, use another funding source. If you have your credit card linked and confirmed, you will see it in the dropdown list.
