Log into Paypal.  At the top of the sceen, click activity which takes you to the detail of all your activity.  On the right side, there is a drop down "statements".  Click "statements" and select "tax documents"

I've just spent 20 minutes looking for the "History" tab/link to retrieve my 1099. I've been places on Paypal I didn't know existed. But there is no "History" that I can see. So what's the secret?

I do not see an option to pull the 1099 for viewing. Is there anyone that can assist me, I would really appreciate it.

Hi stinkingenius,

Great question. I moved your post to combine it with a thread on the same topic. The answer provided by ssaopi2 is correct. When you're logged in to your account, click on Activity, then look for Statements on the right side of the page. Click on Statements and choose Tax Documents. If your 1099-K isn't listed, check back later. I hope this helps!

Thanks for posting to the PayPal Community!  🙂

@PayPal_Michael When does Paypal expect to release 1099's? That's the last piece of info i'm waiting for to complete my taxes.

Hello dearsarah,

Thanks for your followup question. 1099's are usually sent out by the end of January, so it should be available in the Tax Documents section of your account by now. If you don't see one in your account, there are a couple of possibilities.

First, you may have not reached the threshold for getting a 1099. Only sellers who exceed the IRS thresholds will receive a 1099. Sellers exceed the IRS thresholds when they receive over $20,000 USD in gross payment volume for the sale of goods or services and receive over 200 separate payments for goods or services in the same calendar year. Both criteria need to apply before we'll send out a 1099.

Second, PayPal Personal payments that are not payments for the sale of goods or services will not be counted when determining if the IRS thresholds.

Lastly, to see a summary of your financial activity, click on Activity when you're logged in, then Statements and then choose Account Statements (PDF) and/or Activity Export.

I hope this helps! Thanks again for your question and thanks for your business!

Go to Account overview then look under History for Tax Documents or reports.

This is way too difficult. There should be a simple button that says: Tax Docs.
