truthfinder.com, an online service that can tell you EVERYTHING about yourself or someone else for a fee ALREADY HAD MY PASSWORD for paypal when i bought their services.  commercial services such as this are given our passwords?  they can buy our passwords from paypal?

how is this possible?

I'm very sorry to hear about what you found. I can assure you that PayPal does not disclose your password. It sounds like a fraudster was able to determine your password through other means and published the password.

These are just a few ways that passwords are typically found out by fraudsters:

• Passwords used on other, less secure sites - If you're not using a password that is unique to PayPal, this is a very real concern. For tips on creating a strong password, please read here.
• Viruses or other malware - Run a recently updated virus scan on your computer or device and if there's anything that needs to be cleaned up, make sure that you change your password and security questions as soon as possible afterward! Some tips on system security can be found here.
• Unsecured wifi - Always make sure that you're logging in from a secure connection.

If you haven't done so already, check your account for any unauthorized activity and change your password and security questions. If you used the same password anywhere else, make sure you change it anywhere it was used, but use unique passwords for each platform to prevent someone from breaching one site and guessing the password might work on another site.
