Why should buyer be responsible for return shipping costs when seller sent wrong item?

I was sent the wrong item, seller refused to respond to any contact from me to get the appropriate item. PayPal dispute resolution supposedly decides in my favour yet I am responsible for shipping costs with tracking to return the wrong item I was sent. How is this considered Buyer's protection when on top of a poor shopping experience I will still be out money? Seller should be responsible for their mistakes and lack of good business practices and pay for returns. PayPal protects bad sellers.

Time to read PayPal buyer protection policy.  This is exactly how it works.

If you don't agree with PayPal buyer policies then don't use PayPal for payments.

On the other hand, make sure you only buy from reputable and honest sellers.  Amazon has a better return policy.

if this is Ebay domestic transaction,Ebay will make seller give you a return shipping label, else you have to ask the seller.

Paypal cannot take more than you paid,it is a payment processor, not judeg judy or court, even if it were the court and you win the case, collecting would be your own responsibility.

what Ebay does is to give you a return label ,once you use it,it will charge it to his Ebay seller account
