Warranty on item purchased through PayPal credit

I purchased something through PayPal credit from a retail store and the item has a 2 yr. warranty but the manufacturer says i need to go through PayPal?! I’ve emailed and got not response pertaining to the issue! Any suggestions? Thanks!
