Someone tried to scam me today then said he is going to kill me and my family.

So wanted to see if anybody else has had the same problem as me. I know the scam is common but wanted to see if anybody has recieved death threats.

So I put up an item on craigslist and get a email stating they want the item then they say I will give you a 100 more through paypal if you ship it, due to a busy schedule. I say okay thinking its a great deal.

Then he sends me payment to my paypal and I see nothing in my account but I get a email in my junk folder. Something does not seem right so im like let me call paypal. Paypal confirms it is a scam and that I should not ship the item. I tell the guy through text message paypal advised me not to ship the item as to this is a scam. In result he flips out starts telling me he is going to hunt me down and kill me and my family. Normally id be like ok whatever, but then im like wait a second this guy has my email address which guess what reveales all my information.

Ive been all over the internet trying to track this guy down to see if he is anywhere near by and his phone number and email all pop up in different locations along with the "shipping address".

Does any body have any suggestions?

Odds are he is in Africa somewhere as that is where most of these threats some from.

And if you respond to them telling them they have been caught out then before they used to threaten legal action and now presumably violence.

But they will soon move on to another victim if they know you are not going to play ball. They want money so are not going to waste time with someone that has twigged they are scammers.

Personally i would NEVER respond, once i knew it was a scam i just delete any further messages and ignore them.

Does CL care if one threatens the other with life threat?

You should report him so he wont be a nuisance anymore .

I agree,killing someone takes time,planning,energy and $$,why bother?

and what does he get out of it?

IT IS NOT like he is the benficiary of your life insurance policy?

@Whac-A-Mole

Report him to whom?

He is an anonymous person with a hijacked or untraceable email address working out of an internet cafe somewhere in Africa more than likely  !!!

Delete and forget.

Bit like ebay they use hijacked accounts.    Smiley Sad

But yes you are right, at least if they are reported that account will be suspended until the rightful owner can reclaim it.

Sorry was trying to work out what CL was    Smiley Wink
