I trying to sell my Mum's leather sofa. I have someone keenly interested. How do I guarantee an authentic person? If he pays via Paypal, the payment is held and in the meantime picks up the sofa, can this person cancel or stop payment. Can this person scam me?

To answer you last question: Absolutey YES.
Time to reveiw and understand PayPal buyer and seller protection policies.
THERE IS NO BUYER PROTECTION FOR IN-PERSON PICKUP.
Send the buyer an email stating that CASH payment is requred at time of pickup.
