Scam email

Hi I received an email stating I purchased items from Banana Republic and it's being shipped to someone in CA. I checked my paypal account and see no recent activity. I'm guessing it's phishing. Anyone else experience this and have any advice?

If its a spoof, DO NOT USE ANY LINK.

Firstly if the email addressed you as ''Dear Member'' / ''Customer'' / ''Client'' OR your ''email address'' then that confirms its a spoof as paypal would address you by your full name eg Dear John Smith.

Secondly if there was a link OR attachment in that email to ''cancel'' the transaction or ''confirm'' any details then again it would be a spoof.

If there was a problem with your account paypal would not ask you to click on an unsafe link in an email or by downloading an attachment, they would direct you to log in normally and go to the resolution or the message centre for more information.

I had the same email sent to me! I did not give them any info.

This email was well done. The tracking number actually worked for ups although it was an old already delivered item. Alway look at the actual email address. This one was really wonky and long and did not have a domain any where related to banana republic. I did the same thing, checked my account and my bank, no charges. I called banana republic and they don't use PayPal. Moral, checkout everything. I wish there was central site where you look up all these, so I don't have call companies and search all over the internet.
