Received a Different Item on Refund Paypal Didnt Do Anything !

I think I have been scammed and paypal supported them. 

I sold these football boots to someone and we had a clean paypal transaction. After few days he contacted me saying he is not happy with the product and he filed a dispute saying item not as decribed. 

I contacted the buyer and he seemed fair enough and i accepted the return request. But then received a message from him saying the boots are fake and he is not sending them back until he receives the full refund. 

I explained things wouldnt work that way and he needed to send them back  to me cos then I thought he might be scamming. 

Then paypal put a hold on the funds and after receiving my msg he escaleted the dispute to claim. Paypal didnt let me go back and enter any comments or take any different action at that point. 

Finally ireceived the return package, I opened it , inside there was a different ladies sneakers absolutely shattered.  I didnt go ahead and mark i received the package but I then contacted paypal by phone explained the situation they advised me fill an affidavit. 

3 days later I received an email from paypal saying they decided in favour of the buyer ! 

I am absolutely shocked and very dissappointed with this decision. Whenever I had a dispute as seller even if I am right I always lost. I guess paypal needs to revise thier policies and support sellers as well as buyers ! 

I am so gutted I lost the boots which was worth £85 !

Never sell anything you can't afford to lose and use PayPal. Use it only if you feel that you can't find buyer who pays by using more secure payment methods, more secure for you that is.

robot approved the refund since tracking shows it has been returned,so now you appeal and show pictures of the lady sneaker,good luck.

(The problem is that money has already been returned,so Paypal may give you the money out of its own pocket,MAY BE)

I know Ebay does that,if they feel you have a good case and /or you are a reputable seller and /or the amount is small enough for Ebay t o eat it.)
