So I sold an iPhone on Ebay a bit ago, and it went through fine. Buyer put the money in, I shipped it off, it got received. PayPal said I had the money but had to wait a bit to withdraw it because I'm new, but that it was in there.
So I waited a while and one day when I checked on it, it just said the payment had been cancelled. I called PayPal immediately, and they said that the buyer had tried to pay twice but had been denied for some reason. So I contacted the buyer about it, but of course they never got back to me. However, PayPal never informed me that the payment had been tried multiple times or that it had been cancelled.
I called Ebay, and they said that because PayPal showed the funds as having been received, I was not wrong to send the item. However, because it was marked as paid they wouldn't open a case. They sent me back here.
I called PayPal again and told them what happened, and they said that they would refund me the money and open a case on the buyer's side, which is what I wanted. They said to wait up to three days for this to happen and they would send me notification of when they put the money back in.
It's been four or five days and nothing at all from PayPal. There's no money, no contact, nothing. I just got charged a selling fee for it on Ebay, so I basically paid to give away my phone.
I really don't know what to do now, because Ebay and PayPal keep sending me back and forth to each other and PayPal has not refunded my money.
Any advice or help would be much appreciated.
