I posted this to another thread yesterday and got no replies so I started a new one in hopes that a mod will see it.
This is a KNOWN issue and has happened to many others. I can post many links to web sites where this issue is discussed.
I have been back and forth with the sellers and paypal for over a week. I recently found out that my PC WAS hacked through teamviewer after filing a claimn and getting it denied. Finally one of the people from the fraud dept. told me that transactions were done from my work PC. So then I thought of teamviewer which I use to access my office computer. I did check out the logs and found that someone did indeed get on my system on May 27 about 6am and bought some gift cards with an IP address from California. I had already filed a claim and they denied it due to my IP Address BUT now I have the explanation and log files to prove it. I did appeal the claim and explained what happened. I have yet to receive a reply from the claimappeal email. I will contact them again and hopefully someone from Paypal will see this and help. I am out over $400 and very upset!
Who do I need to contact to get this resolved. Do I call in again (for the umpteenth time) and explain my situation or is there someone here on this forum. Needless to say I am very frustrate at the lack of response.
PayPal_Michael are you there?

The only way anyone can track illegal activities is through IP addresses. In my case I found where the offender logged into my PC very early in the morning and left tracks in the teamviewer log file. He also left tracks in the browser history. So there was proof I could provide paypal that they used to make their decision. I state this in my post. If you wiped your hard drive there is little to no chance of finding this proof. Your only chance is to keep pleading with paypal unless you have some other way of backing up your claims.
