Item I purchased was damaged during shipping

Seller states she is not responsible as it was the post office fault.  She told me I had to contact post office which I did not was told the person who mailed the item needs to file a claim.  She will not do this.  She wants me to buy another dress and only pay shipping.  My issue is I already paid for item and shipping and do not feel it is my issue.  She told me pp said I would not win the dispute because she has pictures of item before it was sent and is not responsible for the post offices damage.  Lastly, seller did not have insurance and n this item and is telling me I should have requested it.  I didn't know she didn't have insurance and this option was not given upon purchase.  What should I do?  Thanks

Once I went to the post office and mailed a box,the clerk threw it in the bin behind her,I pointed out that the box was marked fragile all over.

She looked at me and said -this is just the beginning,you aint see nothing yet?

I reported her and she was reprimanded by her superior.
