Forced to reset password after "suspicious activity or devise"

I have only used my phone or home computer for paypal purchasesfor years. I recently used my phone and when I went to check on my payment, paypal said I must change the password. If there was suspicious activity or devis. Why doesn't paypay tell me when this suspicious activity or devise occured to let me decide if it was me or a hack? I need to know if someone did try to hack my account . Tell me what and when. Just changing the password does not tell me what happened. I don't want to keep changing my password if it is just my usual business. If it really was a hack I would want to close this account. Why can't I get specifics on this "suspicious activity or devise"?

I got this problem to, I can guess the cause. I have exede internet which is satellite based internet and the location of the ISP can jump all over the US and I have no control where exede is using at the moment and should not be forced to change the password. A warning is fine but being forced to change it is bull.
