I mailed an item to a buyer in Ebay. It was a stein. The buyer is claiming he got microwave bowls instead. I have the online lave record that shows the weight f the item, there is no way I sent him microwave bowls. Ebay is telling me he can send pics of what he rcvd to support his claim. Anyone can take a picture of something else and claim it is what they recvd. I did not take pictures of the box when I mailed it, I have never had to do that. I have shipped on ebay for years and never had anyone do this to me. Of course Paypal is withholding my money. What recourse do I have to fight this? I am not refunding this persons money. I know what I mailed them.

there is no way for either Paypal or EBAY to tell who is telling the truth, just ask him to return the item and refund,if Paypal,he pays shipping,if case is open on Ebay, you pay return shipping.
I just get off the phone with Ebay, someone bought an item from me weighing 7 lbs, said it is damaged and open a case of return,I gave her a return label and it arrived,NO DAMAGE.
She has a hard time telling me anything is damaged and the pictures are dark and sideway so no damage can be seen.
I have to pick up shipping both ways USPS priority mail of a 7 lbs item.so I ask Ebay to get involved,in a few hours, robot closed the case and refunded her and charge my card.
I called EBAY and she said nothing she can do for me,the fact that I get Ebay involved is one strike against me as a seller and next time,I may not get my final value fee back.
I think more sellers are going to have second thoughts listing anything valuable on Ebay.

Unfortunately selling on eBay and/or using PayPal is a risk, that's why you should never ever sell anything which is even slightly valuable. I think no matter what the truth is you will accept refund and pay return shipping (if case is open on eBay). To make this as frustrating as possible you may also get back empty box.

In my case,my buyer is considerate enough not to damage the item, she even does a better job packing the item for return.
Yes,buyer can destroy the item so she can make you pick up shipping or return an empty envelope or rocks?
Shopping on EBAY is not like shopping at Target,Nordstrom,Ebay will tell the sellers it is the cost of doing business.
