Hey, I purchased an item, before paying I specifically asked the seller "if I purchase now, is it possible to overnight ship the product today? I leave for a trip Saturday morning (this was Thursday morning) and need this item before then." Seller agrees. I pay. He then proceed to ship the item ground and has stopped responding to my messages. What should I do?

Did you pay him extra to ship it a faster method?

If not then just leave him appropriate feedback and if you don't get your item file a dispute for non receipt.

I did not. I felt I didn't have to seeing as I asked before paying and he agreed without asking for an increase in shipping payment.

He may have agreed BUT you bid on the auction accepting the terms of that auction.

You can ask the seller re shipping a different way but if he agrees then changes his mind that is his right.

As you bid and bought the item first you were obliged to pay whatever the seller said or changed their minds about.

If you had asked BEFORE bidding that would have been another matter.

Yes. I sent the message asking about overnight before I ever bid/purchased anything. I needed it before a trip. I would never have hit the BIN button/paid without confirmation that it would be shipped overnight. Here I am now, left for my trip without the product I needed for the trip.

OK then that is a different matter. But unfortunately as it was not on the sellers auction all you can do is leave appropriate feedback to warn other buyers that the seller is not a person of his word.

And get stuck with an item I no longer need? Doesn't sound like much of a win on my side.

Nope its not fair, it would have been better for the seller to have edited his auction and added the other postage option so you could have selected it on checkout.

But as he didn't and you went ahead anyway then there is not a lot you can do about it unfortunately.

But when i have bought something that I later wished i had not then i just re-sold it again on ebay (and once made more money back again !!)
