Hello all need a little help/advice here. I've received a request asking if I would "post" a fairly high dollar item to Malaysia. The prospective buyer has one (1) feedback - positive. The USPS S&H is pretty steep & probably steeper with tracking and delivery confirmation. My question is this: Scenario = Prospective buyer “buys it now” and payment shows in PayPal. I haven’t fulfilled all three (3) of the conditions that allow funds to be immediately released so the funds are at PayPal in limbo for 21 days. I pack and ship the item – considering transit to Malaysia isn’t over night let us suppose that on day 3 after shipping, when tracking shows it in transit, the “buyer” cancels their payment… Then the goods are in transit and USPS is going to deliver and … well that is the question: could something like that happen???

My advice ....don't send.
Nothing to do with a buyer cancelling BUT she could file an item not received dispute and if you can't prove DELIVERY of the item with signature confirmation you will lose and the funds returned to the buyer.
If you had no funds in your paypal balance then paypal would put your account in negative until you paid them back.
You can't get tracking to the door internationally so DO NOT send high cost items internationally if you are at all unsure of your buyer.
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.

Solid -- thanks. I was reading more under the tags and I see the fradualent use of a charge back or nondelivery can be a very messing can of worms.
Without having delivery confermation there doesn't seem to be a way to ship International and be protected from frauds and scammers.
Lets see - certified bank check -- guess you'd have to let it clear, funds be available and then send -- seems like that could take awhile.
O.K. everyone any suggestions on the best way to ship Internationally -- like to Europe -- and be reasonably secure with the transaction?
