I disagree with a buyers "not as described" dispute, what can I do?

I recently sold a job lot of stock from my other ebay shop, the buyer seemed very nice and I was very open as to what I was selling. As there was so much I didn't make an inventory but I did take extensive photos (30 in total) and emailed them to her. She has now filed a dispute claiming that I inacurately described what I was selling and she wants a refund or a partial refund. The thing is she had already told me that she was just starting out as a seller and I can't help but feel that, with my many years of seller experience, she is underestimating the value! I sold all of this stock off as my daughter has recently become disabled and I can't cope with the responsibilty of two shops, prior to that I had been running that shop very successfully for 18 months with glowing feedback, surely I would have a better idea than she of how much it was worth? The thing is I have already used the money to pay off my daughters orthopedic bed which I had put on my credit card! On the one hand I think that giving her the partial is the best thing to do but on the other, as a matter of principal, I think that I should try to scrape together the money to refund her in full and get the stuff back! I feel like I've been scammed! She was so friendly in our correspondance previously and now it's gone quite cold. Perhaps I should escalate to paypal?

If buyer opens a dispute on PayPal you will net to provide sufficient documentation as to exactly what you sold and how you presented that information to the buyer BEFORE the sale.  The buyer will attempt to show documentation that the received items were not the same as presented.  PayPal will make a decision based on the documentation.  That's all that matters, nothing about whether you thought it was a scam or not; it's too late for that.

Deciding to use the money as it was received was your own personal decsiion and not relevant now.

PayPal can't protect you for poor judgement in making a sale.

Rather than risk a forced refund, it seems like the prudent business deicsion would be to accept a negotiated settlement with the buyer now.  Based on your presented information I suspect that you would loose the case with a dispute. It's time to accept that there will be a cost to your busisness and work on the least costly option.

yes,yu will lose if buyer files item not as described, either with Ebay or Paypal as they cant tell who is telling the truth, they also loathe studying pictures or videos.

I would tell her what has happened recently in your family and the money has been spent on an orthopedic bed,you said she is very nice and you said the lot is a  great buy, tell her she could make good money reselling and you wont be competing against her, give her some tips how to resell them.

if she insists on a partial refund, just give her the $$ if it is not too excessive.
