How do i hide my home address from merchants when i make a purchase.

I just recently found out that my home address is actually revealed to any merchant that i make a payment to and yet i was never given an option by paypal to hide it.

I also find out that not all merchants have a physical address when i click on details of purchases that i made from them. A phone number or email address yet paypal has never given me the option to hide my home address when i make payments.

Isn't paypal supposed to be safe and helps to protect your details in case of fraud and something so personal like home address is given out.

Unfortunately that's not possible unless you have a Business Account.  Then only your business info would be displayed.  (PayPal protects your credit card and bank account details.)
