Having to showing copies of bank statements and passport to Paypal ???

I am being asked to provide a copy of a bank statement and a copy of my passport to reactivate my account

This is im my opinion way too intusive.  I have been asked a load of security questions with out issue but I draw the line at this.

No one can force you to do so, as long as you don't mind having your paypal account permantly limited.

But why is all this data needed.... too mant leaks in security all over the place and I am opening my self up be total ransacked. 

Yes I am paranoid about it.

Banks dont ask for this type of photo ID why do paypal require it when I didnt have to show any of this to open the account to start with.

As I said its all too intusive.

I suppose I could always open another account and just forget about this one which is another solution.

Banks do ask for it, i had to provide a large amount of info to open a current account.

If x1 account is limited because you don't provide the info that they require then your new one will be as well.

Also you are only allowed x2 paypal accounts if x1 is personal and the other x1 is business.

Why show photo ID when no one can verify I am the person in the photos
