Paypal debit card

On hold with Paypal for 2 hours!  My debit card has been declined for two separate purchases this morning.

Has anyone been experiencing issues with their Paypal debit card?

Yes - I had the same problem when I tried to buy gas this morning.  I'm in Ohio.  Thankfully I was trying to prepay at the pump and not paying after I pumped at the counter!  I have no other forms of payment with me!  I have been on hold for an huor and 45 minutes.

It happened to me 2 places today, too. I was on hold for over an hour and a half before I decided to hang up.

I finally got through after almost 2 hours on hold...

the rep told me they were doing a system update earlier this morning which was causing the problem, and it's finished and everything should be working fine now.  We shall see - I sure hope so!

how do you apply for a paypal debit card?

Same problem here but I got a different answer when I spoke with customer service. My card kept coming up as declined because I had zero funds. I've never put funds into my paypal account. When I use my PayPal debit MasterCard it always pulls from my back up funding source, my checking account. So why all the sudden does it look only at my PayPal balance. They told me I needed to transfer a small amount of money from my backup checking account to my PP account every couple of weeks to "refresh the link" to my backup source. So now my question is, how can I automatically deposit $5 into my PP Acct from my checking Acct every two weeks? Anyone have a suggestion? It's easy to do a one time transfer but I need it to be automated so I don't forget to do it and get stuck with no money at the grocery store.

That sounded like B S. If you use the card regularly it should be regularly drawing funds from your bank account, thus 'keeping the link fresh'.

That's what I thought. I use that card for everything. In fact, I had used it the day before. Maybe they were told to use an excuse rather than tell the customer they had system problems.

I had this problem after they changed the scoring system for the card a while back (I've been using the paypal debit card for long time). There is a balance manager function from the site that will allow you to setup an automatic feed from your bank to your PayPal account. It doesn't have to be much (mine is 50$ every two weeks when I get paid); but for the most part until this holiday season, I haven't had a problem with my card.

Just following up to see if the transfer from your bank account worked? My card got declined for the first time tonight, even though I've used it many many times with a zero PP balance.  It's frustrating and embarrassing.
