PayPal, this looks like something customers have been wanting for a while now. I'm one of them. I thought switching from square to PayPal would be easy and awesome, but it's starting to look more and more daunting due to the amount of inventory I have to switch over... And I have less than 100 items, I just have very detailed information on each of them and there's no way I am typing that in on a line-by-line basis.
Stop slacking and let's go.

Entering inventory with PayPal is easier than Sqaure, especially if you do it from your computer.
Square, on the other hand, will manage inventory quantities and gives you a store online.

I have entered inventory on both. Square is the only one that allows bulk downloading and uploading of inventory. I also have a PayPal store on my website (separate from my square store) so it would be nice if I would have my entire inventory in that store as well without having to enter each item line by line.
It's not about the adding items to inventory, it's about the bulk add that every other service seems to offer except PayPal. If you read some of the other posts in this thread there are a lot of people with hundreds and even thousands of items in their inventories that they aren't going to sit there and upload one line item at a time. I don't blame them, I don't even want to do mine that way and I have less than a hundred.

When I mentioned inventory management it was about managing inventory quantities. Square reduces inventory for each item sold; PayPal does not manage inventory as no quantity is included with the item.
As for bulk inventory, I realize PayPal does not offer and that such would be a business policy not determined by users.
I think PayPal is having a problem changing their busienss model.
Here's my take.
Square started as a payment processor for in-person sales with credit card purchases. That means Square build their data management to support local sales and inventory management was a planned extension of that system.
On the other hand, PayPal, started as an online payment service and there was no need for inventory to be part of the system. My guess is that the initial data management model made it extremely difficult expand into an inventory system for direct sales. PayPal also wanted to be part of a large money managment and transfer system rather than focus on local sales and inventory; this leaves the inventory system as a secondary aspect of the business. It appears that PayPal will remain focused on other aspects of its' business. I guess PayPal will expand more into the money management rather than inventory management--so many PayPal cards now (with problems).
Competition is tough for online sales. Square has it's own POS units for iOS with strong inventory management. First Data has it's Clover GO portable units with strong iinventory management. PayPal is way behind in this area and not likely to catch up, so they focus on other aspects.
There are a couple reasons I selected PayPal for in-person sales over Square. PayPal Here offers bar code scanning for inentory items; Square does not. PayPal has a compatible bluetooth printer avaialbe for Android and printing a receipt was a requirement. Square does not offer a compatible bluetooth printer for Android.
Clover Go works best on the Clover system, but not a good display on a tablet and NO way to print receipts. I do have a Clover Go account for backup.

Square is probably better for inventory management.
If not for the receipt printer that was only available with PayPal, I would have switched to Square.

This is rubbish. So many years for people requesting this item. I'm not even after inventory management, just a way to upload a csv file of my items. I am a small business but still have over 100 items that I don't fancy doing manually (computer or app). C'mon Paypal surely this is a basic function.
