Paypal Debit Card Notification emails not working since 9/23/2014

As of today Oct 2nd 2014 it's a week since the PP Debit card notification emails have not been working, at all.

I've verified with other PP debit card holders that theirs are also not working.

Initially when I contacted PP about this on the 24th I was informed that PP was not aware of such an issue, when I insisted that it is NOT some issue with my emails or spam filters (I've been a PP debit card holder for well over a decade & avid user) there was some info found that "some users" were having issues.

Having tried to get more information about this I was told in writing that the issue should be resolved by Monday Sept 30th 2014, needless to say this never happened.

As of right now it seems like this is an issue for all such card holders based on the info I have retireved by asking around (I think it is highly unlikely that specifically the people I happen to know would all be in the category of "some users").

So at this point I would ike to know what the REAL story is, needless to say it doesn't take a week in 2014 to figure out what the technical issue is of this sort. Mind you this is a feature that was available from day one of PP debit cards, and has worked somewhat reliably since then with some outages at times.

It would appear something else is going on at this point, related to the ongoing split from eBay? Security issues? Other internal political issues? Something in the "explanations" provided don't add up!

I agree.  It should not take this long to at least acknowledge an issue and find a fix for it.

I stopped receiving notifications on the evening of the 23rd, and called Paypal on the 25th and was told that it's a know issue affecting only some members.

This is causing a headache for me because I am used to using these notification emails to track our finances.  Now, at the end of the day I have to collect all receipts (instead of at the end of the week) and still scan all transactions in the Paypal account to check for any recurring auto payments that would have posted.  It's not a serious problem, but just made the task a bigger pain in the neck than I'm used to.

Has there been any update on an ETA for this being fixed? I wish I would have been notified sby Paypal that there was a problem with the system. I've been victim of crazy unauthorized charges to my card and had I not been sent the emails I would have been out a lot more money for a few days than I was.

jkk808, No ETA no, they don't know what's causing it they say. And just yesterday (in direct contrast to what I was told in writing some days ago) it is NOT affecting everyone the supervisor I spoke to told me. Now interesting that supervisor told me he too had a card and his notifications weren't working. Now that's where this got interesting, both of the accounts in our family that isn't getting notifications had cars compromised in the past 2-3 months as did the supervisors card who said his notifications were not working. So ALL you who aren't seeing notifications has a PayPal card of yours been compromised in the last months for you?

Yeah I think it's time Paypal would start having a system (or service) status announcement board as it's (for now) parent company does:

http://www2.ebay.com/aw/announce.shtml

I am not sure yet if it is a coincidence but as of yesterday Oct 2nd 2014 I am not even getting notifications for incoming payments!

Continuing today, this obviously is a very serious issue as it is directly related to orders that could be overlooked!

From my asking around everyone I have spoken to got their actual last notifications on the 23rd of Sept.

It's really unacceptable that Paypal has been lying like this indicating that it is affecting only "some users".

It would appear at this point that this is by no means getting the priority it should, and Paypal's official statements of "This is a known issue and a technical issue at that, our teams are working as diligently as possible to try and resolve the problem" (underlined by me) is far from the truth!

If PP truly was working as diligent as possible it would have been resolved within 24-48hrs and I hadn't been told 24hours after it started to happen (or rather stopped to happen) that they were not aware of any issues!

PP tells me that they have no way of knowing about issues before the community informs them, that either is nto true or and extremely unacceptable situation for PP to be in, obviously there is no technical hindrences for PP to have such capabilities in place so it is only greed that hinders it!

I am also experiencing this problem and have talked to Paypal twice. The first time, which was about a day after the notifications ceased, I was told that they were going to watch my account to see if they could determine the problem. When I called back yesterday I was informed that this was an issue affecting many users and that they were working on a solution. Not sure if anyone else has noticed, but when I go into my paypal settings, then notifications, I don't even get the option of changing any email notifications. I think this is all tied into their deployment of the "new and improved" site, which in my opinion, is not improved at all.

Also, I'm suprised that this issue didn't come up in a goodle search. I'm sure that tons of users are frustrated, but I really didn't find anything recent for this problem when trying to research it, except for this forum post.

Yeah I don't think a huge % of the PP members use the PP debit card, hence the lack of posts online and not even on Twitter. I too was looking and didn't find any so I decided to make a post myself to get a place for all of us to focus this, honestly I get the feeling that PP doesn't want to have this to be public info! Yeah I too was told on the next day that they "reset" my account notifications and should work, yesterday it was confirmed to me this is a global (all users) issue. Now I'm concerned that my incoming payment notifications are also not working! So it's like not emails from PP at all are working now, ironically the messages that someone replied on here works fine, which I could live without if my PP account notifications worked!
